Svolt Unveils Dragon Armor 3.0 Battery with Fire Electricity Separation
Svolt has introduced its newest battery technology named Dragon Armor 3.0 which enhances safety features for electric vehicles (EVs). This battery marks the first application of a design feature which uses fire electricity separation to protect vehicle occupants from fire dangers.
Dragon Armor 3.0 achieves its main innovation through its design which keeps electrical terminals apart from pressure relief channels. The components in traditional designs usually overlap which makes fire suppression more difficult. Svolt’s new architecture keeps the positive terminal and the flame outlet on separate paths which do not meet.
The battery system will direct flames downward during thermal runaway to prevent them from reaching the passenger cabin. The system directs fumes away from people which reduces their immediate danger during battery failure events.
Svolt has improved the battery system because it now operates at maximum energy density while maintaining high thermal protection levels. The Dragon Armor 3.0 supports square cells together with Cell to Chassis (CTC) and Cell to Body (CTB) system integration. The technical improvements belong in these categories
- Energy Density The system now delivers a 7 10% capacity boost while maintaining its original physical dimensions.
- Cell Dimensions The cell height has experienced an increase of 5 mm.
- Thermal Safety The self heating threshold now stands at 8°C higher while the overall risk of thermal runaway has decreased by 25%.
The Dragon Armor 3.0 will be released in two primary configurations to suit different vehicle types
- 86 kWh Version The system provides a pure electric range which exceeds 400 km while delivering more than 10% battery life enhancement. Hybrid vehicles require this system. The system provides an electric range which exceeds 400 km with more than 10% battery life improvement.
- 115 kWh Version Electric vehicles require this system to deliver high capacity storage and extended range capabilities.
The Dragon Armor 3.0 system developed by Svolt directly addresses the primary safety issue which exists in electric vehicles during extreme thermal situations. The internal layout modifications create a battery pack design which delivers stable safety prediction for upcoming electric and hybrid vehicle models.
