POCOs X Pro Line to Globally Debut New MediaTek Chips
POCO Global just announced they're teaming up with MediaTek to bring out two new processors. The POCO X Pro series will be the first to have MediaTek's Dimensity 9500s flagship and the Dimensity 8500 Ultra premium chipsets. POCO is planning a strategic change for 2026 trying to be the best in the performance per dollar category using MediaTek's tech.
The announcement makes it clear that POCO is putting two levels of performance into its X Pro lineup. The hardware is divided this way
- MediaTek Dimensity 9500s This is the newest flagship chipset and it's probably going to be in the highest end POCO X Pro model.
- MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra This is a premium chipset that should give you great performance at a more affordable price.
POCO will be the first to use these chipsets globally giving them a real edge in early 2026. The POCO X series has always been about processing power and using the Dimensity 9500s shows they're going for flagship level gaming and multitasking. The s and Ultra at the end mean these are special versions of standard designs made just for POCO's hardware.
The series is labeled as Coming Soon with the international release of the POCO X Pro series coming first. By getting to release the Dimensity 9500s first POCO is setting itself apart from competitors that usually use standard flagship versions. We should hear more tech specs about clock speeds thermal stuff and model numbers as we get closer to launch.
This partnership shows how MediaTek's Dimensity line is becoming more powerful in the global phone world getting into areas that used to be controlled by other chip designs.
