Motorola Edge 70 Pro Challenges Mid Range Market with Premium Hardware Featuring Advanced Display Technology and High Capacity Silicon Carbon Battery
Motorola has officially launched its new smartphone model Edge 70 Pro in India to provide customers with premium features at a lower price point. The new smartphone improves visual performance along with battery life which enables it to compete against other products in the market through its extremely bright display and its advanced battery technology.
The display features a 6.8 inch AMOLED screen which reaches a maximum brightness level of 5200 nits while high brightness mode maintains 1800 nits of brightness. The screen operates at a 144 Hz refresh rate and delivers a pixel density of 450 PPI. Motorola partners with Pantone to provide three chassis color options which include Lily White and Titan and Tea while maintaining the curved design and the series' new squircle camera module.
The optical configuration relies on a trio of 50 MP sensors. The primary shooter uses the Sony Lytia 710 sensor which comes with optical image stabilization and an f/1.8 aperture. The secondary 50 MP ultrawide lens supports a 122 degree field of view while the front facing camera also records at 50 MP with built in autofocus capabilities. The back module contains one additional sensor which creates a symmetrical design that resembles a quad lens configuration despite using three sensor components.
The Edge 70 Pro uses the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme processor to operate its system. The system uses LPDDR5X memory with UFS 4.1 flash storage as its hardware requirements. The 6500 mAh battery represents the main feature of the device which uses silicon carbon technology to enable greater battery capacity without increasing the device thickness. Users can recharge the battery through 90 watt wired charging while the device supports 5 watt reverse wired charging to power other devices.
The device will become available for purchase starting from April 29. Indian customers can choose between two main options which include an entry level model with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage for approximately 415 dollars and an upgraded model with 12 GB of RAM for about 449 dollars. Motorola positions this handset as a direct competitor to existing mid range champions by undercutting the premium price range which establishes the traditional premium tier.
