The REDMI R70 and R70m smartphones establish a new budget category for the company. The company introduced its first entry level smartphones with these two devices which operate on shared internal hardware but provide different battery and memory options. The two devices differ in their memory and storage capacities because the R70 starts at 4GB/128GB for $234 while the R70m offers a top tier configuration of 12GB/256GB which starts at $263.

The R70 and R70m remain unavailable for worldwide sale according to current information which exists until mid April 2026. The company treats these devices as China only products while distributing R series updates through regional methods. Customers and investors are waiting for announcements about whether these high capacity battery units will become available for international sale later in 2026.
