ASUS ROG Crosshair 2006 Motherboard Honors Brand History With Retro Design And Modern Features

ROG Crosshair 2006 Motherboard Celebrates Twenty Years Of Innovation With Retro Design And Premium AMD Performance Features

The ROG Crosshair 2006 from ASUS Republic of Gamers is a specialized revision of the Crosshair X870E Dark Hero hardware, and it is a retrospective design honoring the first motherboard made by the brand twenty years ago. According to ASUS press release:

"This hardware employs retro and vivid colors along with materials that represent the founding years of PC gaming while integrating 2026 hardware technology for your latest build."

A large 2 inch OLED screen can be found above the first M.2 slot and displays real time information on CPU clock speed and temperature.

The ROG Crosshair 2006 motherboard contains an excellent set of power delivery components for premium hardware. This new board will include twenty plus two plus two power stages with each phase rated at 110 Amps for powering your AMD Ryzen 9000 Series CPU, alongside 10000 hour Black Metallic Capacitors, MicroFine alloy chokes, and ProCool II power connectors. Immense heatsinks embedded within the I/O shroud provide thermal regulation for this power system while running your CPU at full power.

Memory performance on the board is bolstered by a server grade low etch manufacturing process and PCB back drilling as well as NitroPath DRAM Technology, which will allow you to attain the highest possible frequency from your DDR5 memory kit. For any storage you may require, there are 5 available M.2 slots in total, and 2 of them support the PCIe 5.0 standard. Installing new drives will be extremely simple with their M.2 Q Latch and M.2 Q Release features, which allow for the use of tool less M.2 drives.

The ROG Crosshair 2006 offers various connectivity options for all your networking and peripherals. This hardware will be compatible with WiFi 7, with Ethernet connections at both 10Gb and 5Gb per port. For connecting high speed storage and displays, there are 2 USB4 ports accessible from the rear of the board, and one front panel header that supports USB Type C up to 60 watts of Quick Charge 4 plus technology. The motherboard features 3 USB 2.0 headers to support any liquid cooling system and additional internal peripherals you need to connect.

Cable management for this version is top priority with the introduction of ASUS AIO Q Connector technology which will allow AIO liquid coolers to receive power and data signals directly through their mounts on the motherboard as opposed to their traditional cable connections. The ROG Strix LC IV Series cooling units were the first of their kind to use the wireless interface, and it allows for a clean internal aesthetic since the connection cables between the motherboard and radiator unit no longer need to be present.
