ASUS ROG Magic Box Pro Max Gaming Router Integrates High Performance Hardware With 10Gbps Connectivity and AI Smart Traffic Handling Solutions
ASUS has released an upgrade for its line of networking hardware in the form of a high performance gaming router in the guise of the ROG Magic Box Pro Max an attempt to integrate networking hardware into a mini PC form factor. From ASUS product catalog, high throughput and smart traffic handling are key priorities. The device features support for 3 independent access points which is aimed at allowing specialized network control across three individual bands.
The internals are powered by a quad core 2 GHz Broadcom CPU and 2GB of DDR4 RAM, these components allow for the routers total summed up throughput of 12000Mbps spread over three distinct bands. In terms of physical interfaces, the router has two Ethernet ports, each at a maximum of 10 Gbps, and another five Ethernet ports at 2.5Gbps. The external dimensions of the router chassis are 225x225x90mm.
ASUS advertises a range of 278.7 m^2 for this router. To assist the internal components in sustained usage the router utilizes an innovative cooling solution with 6 of the 8 internal antennas utilizing copper pipes to transfer heat away from the components. The device uses a built in artificial intelligence which is aimed at preserving stability on Mesh networks as well as speeding up game traffic and providing an actively evolving cyber defense against malicious attacks. The router has a customizable Aura RGB lighting solution and a price tag of 660 USD in the Chinese market.
