Lenovo 2026 Laptops Global Release AMD Strix Halo and Intel Panther Lake Overhaul Plans

Lenovo 2026 Mobile Computer Overhaul Strategy Features AMD Strix Halo Legion Laptops and Intel Panther Lake Yoga and IdeaPad Slim Series Rollout

Lenovo is planning a huge overhaul of its mobile computer range for 2026, which includes the incorporation of both new AMD and Intel architectures into new products. Global listings and official documentation from manufacturers verify that Lenovo will begin to roll out a slew of new hardware in 2026 for a variety of users from high performance gaming devices to consumer notebooks. This overhaul strategy leverages the AMD Strix Halo architecture for graphics heavy tasks, and utilizes the new Intel Panther Lake and Wildcat Lake architectures for the more efficient consumer and enterprise market.

Lenovo's new 2026 mobile computers will first hit the market in the gaming segment, with the global release of the Legion 7a 15ASH11, which also happens to be the first laptop to feature an AMD Strix Halo platform, based on the Ryzen AI Max+ 392 APU, which uses a totally new, 32/64GB LPDDR5X 8000 memory structure. Users will be able to allocate up to 48GB of unified VRAM straight to the integrated Radeon 8060S in this model, a feature no other laptop from any manufacturer will have when it hits the market.

The Legion 7a comes in at 15.9mm, which weighs in at 1.55kg, and sports a 15.3" OLED panel with a resolution of 2560x1600, a refresh rate of 165Hz, and 500nits peak, 1100 nitsHDR. The battery used is 84Wh, with 180W fast charging, a 15% increase over comparable AMD based laptop specifications that feature a lower power APU. Lenovo hasn't put out an official price on this, but it's already appeared in holding pages for Europe, Australia, and North America.

Panther Lake comes to Yoga and IdeaPad lines

Yoga Air 14 Ultra Aura

Not all 2026 laptops feature AMD's new APUs, as Intel has their new Panther Lake architecture coming, which Lenovo will be first to market with their new Yoga Air 14 Ultra Aura. This new processor uses the X9 378H, which is below the X9 388H, and doesn't feature vPro in the processor unlike the X7 368H chip found in the Y7 368H. Users in China will be able to get this model at launch with 32GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD, which is expected to arrive internationally as the Yoga Slim 7i Ultra Aura Edition.

Panther Lake will also be hitting the consumer market with the 15.3" IdeaPad Slim 3i 15IPH11, replacing its predecessor which used Raptor Lake, and with models featuring either the Core Ultra 5 322, or Core Ultra 7 355 chips, and partial 8GB Soldered Memory, but with one SODIMM slot to add 16GB for a total of 24GB. It will come with 50/60WH internal batteries, 65W power input, support for WiFi 6/7, and come with either a base model 1200p 60Hz screen, or an up spec'd model with a 1600p 165Hz OLED panel. Currently the lowest model is priced at £949.99 in the UK, while the top of the range Core Ultra 7 model sells for $1199 in the US.

Intel's Wildcat Lake architecture, rebranded as Core Series 3 chips, is coming to another generation of IdeaPad devices from Lenovo, and they have announced that four models will include a version of this new chip: the 14", 15", 16" and 17" IdeaPad Slim 3i 14IWC11, 15IWC11, 16IWC11 and 17IWC11. The vast majority of these laptops will use either a Core 5 315, Core 5 320 or a Core 7 350 which feature 2 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores. The screens included on these laptops are also greatly varied, with the 14", 15" and 16" versions being offered with a high quality OLED option, that will be included on the 15" variant with a 500nit 165Hz panel. However, the 17" model will have a basic 1080p 60Hz IPS panel with 300 nits peak brightness and an 800:1 contrast ratio, while all models in this range share a single SODIMM for upgrades and come with either a 50/60Wh internal battery.
