ASUS ROG NUC 16 Small Form Factor PC Delivers High Performance Computing With Intel Core Ultra 9 Power NVIDIA RTX 5080 Graphics And Advanced AI Capabilities
The ASUS Republic of Gamers announced the ROG NUC 16. The small form factor PC station was announced, and it uses a 3 liter metal chassis made for high performance computing in an extremely small footprint. The system is capable for gaming, creative production, and on device artificial intelligence processing, according to ASUS Republic of Gamers official release. The internal hardware has an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 290HX Plus and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU with 16GB of GDDR7 VRAM.
The ROG NUC 16 can handle all modern software due to upgrades in memory and processing. The device is upgradable up to 128GB of DDR5 6400 memory for smoother frame rates and less laggy multitasking. The system provides up to 1334 AI TOPS for its artificial intelligence capabilities; it is designed to run a large local language model and personal artificial intelligence agent. The NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 feature implemented in the GPU with the AI capabilities has two parts. It has Super Resolution powered by machine learning and Multi frame generation to produce up to an additional five frames for every rendered frame, and it also reduces system latency. The ROG NUC 16 shows a 2.3% gain in 3DMark compared to hardware of past generations.
In order for a small chassis to run with this high performance, it needs very advanced thermal engineering. ASUS built the system with its QuietFlow Cooling with three 102x102x17mm fans. It has a dual vapor chamber, which can increase CPU thermal coverage by 12%, and it also has an SSD heatsink made to cool down solid state drives and its operation from 72°C down to 59°C. To remain quiet under heavy load, the ROG NUC 16 outputs a 38 dBA level under full load, which is about as loud as a library.
There are now two chassis options for the ROG NUC 16: the Moonlight White version, as well as the standard metal. It also has a patented removable stand, allowing you to have it stand up vertically, or lay flat horizontally to accommodate whatever environment you're putting it in. It can also run everything from living room 8K gaming up to the best creative workflow stations on up to 5 external 4K displays. It supports Thunderbolt 4 connections for blazing fast external device transfer, and also supports ASUS GlideX which allows you to share your screens between multiple devices. It is designed to support creative workflow due to its fast wire and wireless connections with huge files and multi device interaction.
