Dell Pro 5 and 7 Series Laptops Launch with Intel Panther Lake Architecture Featuring LPCAMM2 Memory and Professional OLED Display Options
Dell has introduced its Pro 5 and Pro 7 series laptops which mark its first worldwide launch of new professional equipment. The new systems include three different screen sizes which all utilize Intel Panther Lake processors. The new systems introduce advanced memory technology and high capacity battery options as their main focus while keeping their traditional business look. Dell hardware configurator shows that this release represents a major change in Dell s approach to handling mobile memory and managing internal device temperature control.
Dell Pro 5 Series 16 and 14 Inch Configurations
The Pro 5 Series 16 serves as the largest entry in the new lineup and utilizes 8 different processor options from the Panther Lake family. The Core Ultra 5 332 vPro and the Core Ultra X7 368H form the range which builders can select from. Builders can select between standard DDR5 RAM and LPCAMM2 RAM which supports a maximum capacity of 64 GB.
The 16 inch chassis provides support for PCIe Gen 5 storage and 70 Wh battery size yet it does not include OLED display support. Dell provides 1200p and 1600p IPS panels which feature brightness ranges from 400 nits to 500 nits. The entry level panels in this series offer 62.5% sRGB color space coverage. The 16 inch model has a base price of 2232 dollars in the US market while configurations containing 64 GB of LPCAMM2 RAM can reach prices above 4877 dollars.
The Pro 5 Series 14 provides a different feature set compared to its larger sibling. Dell promoted this 14 inch model as the successor to past professional devices because it included user replaceable LPCAMM2 RAM. The Pro 5 14 model offers the choice between a 1200p OLED display and 1600p IPS panels which provide 120 Hz variable refresh rate technology support.
The Intel Arc B390 integrated graphics solution comes with processor options which go up to the Core Ultra X7 368H level. The system permits usage of three cell batteries which have a maximum capacity of 70 Wh and can store data up to 2 TB through PCIe Gen 5 drives. The 14 inch model starts at a price of 2409 dollars.
The Ultra Thin Pro 7 Series 13 and 14 Inch Models
Dell Pro 7 Series 13 holds the record for the thinnest professional laptop which Dell has ever created because its thinnest area measures 10.7 mm. The 1.19 kg chassis uses either an all aluminium design or a magnesium bottom cover to maintain weight below that of a 13.6 inch MacBook Air. Dell revealed that the 13 inch model would only work with 5 specific Panther Lake processors which included the Core Ultra 7 366H vPro.
The system operates with LPDDR5X 8533 RAM which comes in three different capacity options of 16 GB 32 GB and 64 GB. The display supports IPS panels which operate at 60 Hz with 1200p resolution. The US market price for a Pro 7 13 pre built system starts at 2835 dollars while fully customized units can exceed 6000 dollars.
The Pro 7 Series 14 provides a 14 inch 16 10 display which occupies more space while its magnesium base results in weight of 1.27 kg. The system does not support user upgradable RAM like the Pro 5 series because it uses the same LPDDR5X 8533 soldered memory which the 13 inch model. The display options include three selections which feature a 60 Hz OLED panel with peak brightness of 300 nits and two different 120 Hz variable refresh rate IPS options at 500 nits.
The 14 inch Pro 7 enables users to choose between 55.8 Wh battery and 70 Wh battery options. The series begins in the US market at 2404 dollars and in the UK market at 2256 pounds. Dell has chosen phone based inquiries to provide Australian customers with Pro model availability updates while online sales remain active in most other areas.
