Deep Rock Galactic Rogue Core Roadmap Details Planned Updates to Timers Ammo and Gameplay Mechanics Following Mixed Steam Feedback from Early Access Players
Although the original Deep Rock Galactic is still incredibly loved, the new spin off to the title called Deep Rock Galactic Rogue Core, hasn't had a universally good response from the public. The innovative mechanics implemented in the spin off simply haven't been well received, so to combat this, Ghost Ship Games have released an official roadmap to try and tackle the biggest criticisms in the Early Access game.
The development team has pledged to try and tackle 3 key issues which are currently affecting the players. Feedback collected through Steam reviews highlights a lack of satisfaction from the player base on the timed missions, the cooperative selection of upgrades, and a significant lack of ammo. Ghost Ship Games intend to tackle each of these problems throughout their published roadmap to improve the game.
The first batch of updates to be released, aim to provide balance adjustments quickly. The team intend to increase the number of weapons, add in a variety of enemies and a reroll mechanic, so the player has more control over their build throughout a run. Future updates will introduce more diversity to the game, with unique bosses, specific missions and events being added to the title.
The heavily criticised timer is going to receive a significant rework. Rather than completely removing the timed mission mechanic, the developers intend to create new ways in which players can have more control and extend the timer on a run. No specific time or date is given for each update, and the roadmap itself uses phrases like first, after that, and sometime, which suggest the roadmap is adaptable.
Current statistics from the Steamdb, show the game Deep Rock Galactic Rogue Core having a mixed rating with the customer base. Having received over 9,000 reviews on the platform since its recent release onto Early Access. Of the 9,000 total reviews 3,850 reviews are negative, meaning 41.2% of active players do not approve of the current state of the game. Ghost Ship Games will hope that this roadmap can work towards regaining the players confidence.
