Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3i 17IWC11 International Release Featuring Intel Wildcat Lake Processors Regional Pricing and Display Specifications
Though multiple hardware manufacturers have limited their new Intel Wildcat Lake laptops to Chinese markets, Lenovo is taking a wider approach to distribution. Lenovo has now launched the IdeaPad Slim 3i 17IWC11 in East and Southeast Asia, and intends to make the hardware available in Europe as well. According to Lenovo's official regional websites, the large format laptop is already available in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore, making this the first worldwide release of this particular Intel processor architecture.
The base configuration can be found selling for HKD 10259, equating to roughly 1000 U.S. Dollars. For this price Lenovo will give the buyer an Intel Core 5 320 CPU (with 6 cores), which, based on early performance figures available from manufacturer testing, performs slightly worse than the silicon found in competitor devices like the MacBook Neo (A18 Pro). A second config option comes with a slightly faster Core 7 350 processor for those who desire faster performance.
The baseline of the IdeaPad Slim 3i 17IWC11 is configured with 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB PCIe 4.0 SSD. Users have the option to configure the laptop with 16 GB DDR5 5600 RAM and 1 TB of M.2 2242 SSD storage. The laptop does come with one SODIMM slot for a possible 32 GB of RAM, and power comes in the form of a 50Wh or 60Wh battery. Lenovo has tested the larger battery option and has concluded it can achieve up to 18 hours of straight operation.
To keep costs low, the IdeaPad Slim 3i 17IWC11's display is an unremarkable, albeit competent, IPS panel. Lenovo is equipping this laptop with a 17" screen that sports the traditional 1920x1080 resolution at a standard 60Hz refresh rate. The panel produces a modest 300 nits of peak brightness and is reported to cover 72% of the NTSC color spectrum. This means that this laptop would excel as an office machine, but could be considered underwhelming in the creative space.
While other wildcat laptops are currently only available in China, Lenovo's latest product has made its way into international retail.
