Lenovo Legion Y70 Gaming Smartphone Launch Details Featuring Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Processor Massive 8000mAh Battery And Affordable China Pricing
Lenovo has officially released the Legion Y70, its new flagship gaming smartphone, in China. In a recent presentation, the Chinese firm has revealed that this phone boasts the most powerful mobile processor at the moment, has a very dense battery, and can offer an incredibly bright display in the daylight. The phone joins a crowded mobile gaming market with a starting price of $382 for the lowest storage variant.
The phone has a 6.82 inch LTPO AMOLED display which has an adaptive refresh rate up to 144Hz. The 2K display is rated for 100% of the Display P3 color gamut and should be accurate when used for multimedia. Lenovo also said that this display can get up to 7000 nits peak local brightness when it is displaying content with HDR, which is definitely an upgrade in brightness from the previous generation. Under the display is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor that has been coupled with an integrated vapor chamber system in order to allow you to play games without having to worry about overheating.
For memory and storage, you will get 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and internal UFS 4.1 storage with sizes from 256GB all the way up to 1TB. The camera array consists of a dual module on the back and one camera on the front; the rear dual array includes a 50MP Sony LYT 710 design main sensor that is f/1.88 and has OIS, and a 8MP ultra wide lens which is f/2.2 and has autofocus. The front camera comes in with a 32MP sensor which has an f/2.2 aperture.
The huge 8000mAh battery capacity is one of the biggest seen in a modern smartphone and comes with 90W charging speeds. It also has a charge bypass mode for gaming where the hardware runs directly from the plugged in charger, saving wear and tear on the battery. Lenovo also claims that the phone's battery chemistry is designed to last at least 7 years in typical daily usage; it is backing that up by giving a 4 year warranty guaranteeing the phone will be replaced if the maximum capacity drops below 80%.
The Legion Y70 has high levels of water and dust protection, which meets IP66, IP68 and IP69 standards. It has extensive physical and wireless connectivity with support for GPS, NFC and Wi Fi 7. The phone is dual sim which means it supports 2 physical SIM cards as well as 2 eSIM profiles for dual sim capabilities, allowing you to essentially maintain two separate phone numbers or network connections without swapping out cards.
Lenovo has launched its new phone with some surprisingly cheap prices in China. The 12GB RAM/256GB storage version costs $382. 12GB RAM/512GB storage and the 16GB RAM/512GB storage versions will retail at $470 and $529 respectively. To top it all off, the 16GB RAM/1TB storage flagship variant can be picked up for $646.
