Microsoft Surface Pro 12 for Business Launches With Intel Panther Lake Architecture Offering Powerful Hardware Internals High Refresh Rate OLED Displays And Optional 5G Connectivity

Microsoft recently launched its new business oriented 2 in 1 in a global launch, the Surface Pro 12 for Business. This is the 12 th generation of their 2 in 1 series and was targeted for enterprise, rather than consumer. We still don't have the information about consumer variants expected later, however we do have detailed information about this professional, enterprise, version based on the Intel Panther Lake architecture. It will continue to exist along with the previous Surface Pro 11 which uses a Snapdragon based architecture and the support for which should continue till 2026 (when Snapdragon X2 updates are expected to roll out).

The core of this 2 in 1 relies on two types of Intel Panther Lake chips Core Ultra 5 335 or the Core Ultra 7 366H. There will be three options for RAM with the Surface Pro 12 for Business 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of LPDDR5X RAM to meet the heavy workloads of professionals. What's interesting is that the Surface Laptop 8 that was released along with this 2 in 1 doesn’t use the Arc B390 graphics hardware.

The display has 120 Hz refresh rate and it is available in two types of screens a normal IPS panel or the richer contrast OLED panel. For battery management, IPS panel models will be equipped with a 47 Wh battery, and the models with OLED display will have a higher 53 Wh battery, to handle the needs of a higher contrast screen. And yes, this device has the same form factor as any other Surface Pro with support for the tablet functionality that allows for easy switching between desk mode and mobility.

For seamless internet access for mobile professionals the device can be purchased with optional 5G connectivity. Initially the base model of the Surface Pro 12 for Business will be priced at $1,949 in the United States.
