Vivo Launches Lightweight Over Ear Noise Cancelling Headphones with 75 Hour Battery Life

Vivo Launches First Over Ear Wireless Headphones Featuring Adaptive Noise Cancellation Ergonomic Design And Industry Leading 75 Hour Battery Life For High Fidelity Audio Seekers

Vivo introduced its first active noise canceling over ear wireless headphones at the official launch event in China alongside its S60 series of smartphones. These headphones are meant to take on the likes of the premium Apple AirPods Max but at a fraction of the cost, with an emphasis on high end audio and stellar battery life. The headphones can already be found for preorder on China's market at an amazing price point of 499 yuan, which translates to roughly 75 dollars.

The designers at Vivo put special care into the ergonomic aspects, engineering a light yet durable foldable design, weighing in at just 238 grams. It features a slow recovering foam on the headband to distribute pressure equally across your skull and acoustic memory foam on the earcups, wrapped in supple eco leather. There's a mechanical hinge design, which aims at preventing hair from getting caught when adjusted, and the clamping force of the headphones is engineered specifically to suit prolonged use even with glasses.

As for acoustic performance, the headphones are equipped with a 40mm composite biodiaphragm dynamic driver, are Hi Res Audio certified and are able to transmit sound wirelessly in high fidelity mode thanks to LDAC codec support, along with standard AAC and SBC formats. Users can enjoy 360 degree virtual spatial audio for an immersive experience, as well as personalize their listening through the use of an integrated 10 band equalizer. For a more efficient experience, multipoint connectivity can establish simultaneous links to 3 different devices (computers, tablets, or smartphones), enabling the user to switch seamlessly between them.

The system used for ANC dynamically analyzes the environment in order to optimize the sound reduction. On average, it attenuates surrounding noise by 31 decibels, but it is capable of attenuating up to 58 decibels in very loud environments. There's also a transparency mode for users to be able to monitor their environment, and potentially have a conversation without removing their headphones.

When it comes to power management, the Vivo headphones seem to be a category leader. The company has claimed a whopping 75 hours of playback on a single charge with active noise cancellation disabled. When you turn ANC on, the total playtime drops to still impressive 35 hours of constant music listening. Fast charging has also been implemented, with the ability to get up to 9 hours of music playback on a 10 minute charge. Some other exciting features of the new Vivo headphones include the 47ms low latency gaming mode, a tool for real time speech translation and even the ability to locate them if misplaced with the hardware tracker.
