AGON by AOC Unveils AGON PRO AGP277QKDC Professional Esports Monitor Featuring 540 Hz Tandem WOLED and Dual Frame Mode
AGON by AOC has announced the 7 series of professional hardware for gaming, with the new flagship monitor from the series, the AGON PRO AGP277QKDC. A 26.5 inch monitor built exclusively for serious competitive esports, this is yet another example of a hardware mix of elite refresh rates and durable panel technology designed to evolve the game. The monitor is available beginning this month at MSRP 699.
The major technical highlight of the AGP277QKDC is its Dual Frame Mode that enables competitive gamers optimize their display performance for games they are playing. They can pick native QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 at 540 Hz for image quality, or reduce to HD resolution of 1280 x 720 at 720 Hz for optimized motion clarity during ultra fast competitive gameplay.
The same high speed performance is enabled by a new 4 th generation Tandem WOLED panel. This architecture uses a 4 layer stacked structure which improves 4 times the light efficiency of the common single layer, this allows the screen to hold a peak brightness of 1500 nits at 1.5% APL. The electrical demand is spread throughout a few organic layers, the stacked structure helps to reduce panel stress and greatly diminishes the risk of permanent image retention after heavy long term use.
Senior Gaming Product Manager Csar Acosta explained how the new product was created, paying special attention to the focus on speed and usefulness:
The AGP277QKDC represents a milestone for AGON PRO on two fronts. On the technology side, WOLED at 540 Hz pushes OLED gaming speed into new territory, and Dual Frame Mode gives competitive players the option to go even faster at 720 Hz. On the design side, the new AGON 7 aesthetic is something we have been working on for a long time. The symmetric stand, frameless construction, integrated cable management and features like the pop-out headset holder reflect how seriously we take the full desk experience.
This monitor uses a four sided frameless construction with the purpose of reducing bezel distraction. The response time for this monitor is an impressing 0.03 ms (gray to gray) to provide near instantaneous responses without ghosting trails behind moving objects. It is NVIDIA G SYNC Compatible and has Adaptive Sync capabilities to provide consistent image delivery.
Color output has been factory calibrated and utilizes 99.5% of the professional DCI P3 color space in with 10 bits (1.07 billion colors). The HDR rendering capabilities are certified by the VESA standard as DisplayHDR True Black 500 for the deepest blacks and shadows.
Designed for convenience and ergonomics, the professional grade stand provides 150 mm of height adjustment, and full tilt, swivel and 90 degree under works. The stand's base is perfectly symmetric to increase the available (and unwasted) real estate on the desktop. Esports players can then get their keyboard angled boldly and comfortably and move their mouse around the desktop freely without crashing into the monitor stand.
The I/O design is configured for high bandwidth signals and multi platform configurations. The back panel includes 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 2.1 port using UHBR 20 standards for using the highest refresh rates without requiring bandwidth heavy video compression. One dual function USB C port provides 65 W of power to charge your connected laptop and HBR3 video and data over the single wire. A powered KVM switch will allow the user to drive 2 separate PCs with a single mouse and keyboard.
To help counter the issues with eternal life that OLED s are susceptible to by cleverly having a better lifespan, AGON by AOC includes a whole 3 years warranties from the manufacturer and is specifically covers the OLED burn in to aid protect against it. This is accompanied by a built in OLED Care maintenance software which performs background refresh cycles which will help keep the panel looking bright and true to color for decades. The physical additions include a pop out headset hanger on one side of the chassis and a Light FX RGB customizable backlight system on the rear chassis.
