ASUS Launches Dawn 7 Pro Series Laptops With AMD Ryzen AI Processors Slender Metal Chassis and High Resolution 144Hz IPS Displays To Meet Various Portable Workstation Needs
ASUS launched the Dawn 7 Pro series of laptops specifically for the Chinese market. This line up offers 2 models that come housed in slender metal chassis. Both of the laptops boast high performance AMD CPUs, fast displays, 180 degree lay flat hinge, and are factory loaded with Windows 11. To satisfy various portable workstation needs, the series is divided into two sizes.
Both models offer IPS displays. The screens both have a resolution of 2560x1600 and a very speedy refresh rate of 144Hz, while offering up to 400 nits peak brightness and covering 100% of the sRGB gamut. The only difference between the two screens is physical size; users may choose a 14 inch screen or a 16 inch screen. In terms of processing power, the CPU used is dependent on the configuration tier chosen; base level models will use the Ryzen AI 5 430 processor whereas top tier models will include the Ryzen AI 7 445. There are configurations that feature up to 32GB of RAM and up to 2TB of PCIe 4.0 solid state storage by using the available secondary storage slot for a second SSD.
Physical port differences are nonexistent between models. All of the devices include Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, USB Type A, USB Type C, and Ethernet. Hardware wise the 16 inch model is superior as it includes both a full sized keyboard with numeric keypad, a fingerprint sensor on the power button and a larger 70Wh battery than the smaller model.
Prices of the Dawn 7 Pro series vary in relation to size and CPU selection. The 14 inch model will range from $1404, for the 14 inch model with the Ryzen AI 5 430, 32 GB RAM and 1TB of storage to $1478, for the configuration that uses the Ryzen AI 7 445, 32 GB RAM and 1TB of storage. The price of the 16 inch models begins at $1182 for the 16 inch model with the Ryzen AI 5 430 processor, 16GB RAM and 1TB of storage to $1256 for the Ryzen AI 7 445, 16 GB RAM and 1TB storage model.
