ASUS Pad T3201 Re Entry Into Tablet Arena with Android 16 and Premium 12.2 Inch Dual Layer OLED Display Performance Chassis Design and Intelligent Software Features
ASUS is marking its re entry into the tablet arena with the announcement of the ASUS Pad T3201. Based on the official press releases published by ASUS at the event, the new device runs on the Android 16 operating system, combining a premium display with a light chassis made for traveling on a day to day basis. All in all, the ASUS Pad T3201 aims to become a fully integrated companion device, closing the gap between your media entertainment on a mobile basis and your cross device productivity.
The core of the ASUS Pad T3201’s hardware is the large, 12.2 inch, dual layer OLED display panel with a 3:2 aspect ratio and 144Hz refresh rate. With a resolution of 2800x1840 pixels and a typical brightness of 600 nits while also supporting 100% of the DCI P3 color gamut, it promises an extremely smooth yet bright viewing experience. Dual layer OLED screen tech increases overall power efficiency while maximizing screen lifespan compared to a single layer display; it fills 92% of the tablet's front and boasts TV Rheinland certifications for low blue light and flicker free operation to make reading more enjoyable over longer periods. In terms of audio, the tablet is equipped with 4 individual speakers, rated at 1 watt and 8 ohms each, that support Dolby Atmos for an immersive 360 degree audio field that should deliver clear voice and punchy bass tones. This makes the hardware suitable for film consumption and gaming.
The ASUS Pad T3201’s chassis consists of a rigid magnalium alloy frame that holds a durable fiberglass back cover. This makes the tablet sturdy for everyday transport, yet it weighs only 523 grams, measures 6.5 millimeters in thickness and boasts overall dimensions of 271.1 by 182.4 millimeters, which means you can easily slip it into any backpack or tote bag for on campus, office or during traveling purposes.
Powering up the new ASUS tablet is a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 octa core processor fabricated using a 4nm process technology, coupled with 8GB LPDDR5x RAM for seamless multitasking and speed, and 128 or 256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage (expandable via a microSD card slot up to 1TB). This device supports dual band, high speed Wi Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, allowing for seamless media streaming and online gaming over Wi Fi and connecting with wireless peripherals, respectively.
To ensure the long use of the tablet, it is backed by a 9000mAh battery capacity that can be quickly charged up to 50% in 30 minutes using the included 45W fast charging via a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type C port. That same port supports DisplayPort 1.4 output and PD 3.0 charging standards as well.
Beyond basic functionality, the software has several neat additions, including ASUS GlideX, which lets you mirror your tablet to a Windows PC and share files between both devices, plus Google Gemini and Circle to Search integrated with the Android 16 operating system for intelligent suggestions and fast information finding. An AI enhanced 5MP front camera helps you easily unlock the tablet and log into applications using your face via a Face Login feature, whereas the 13MP rear camera takes photos of objects and scans documents.
In terms of accessories, the ASUS Pad T3201 comes in the box with a cover case. Moreover, the tablet supports the use of an ASUS Pen 2.0 stylus for writing or sketching, and an external Bluetooth keyboard for increased productivity when writing documents or creating emails, while sensors that include a G sensor, gyro, hall sensor and an ambient light sensor round out the specs list.
