BYD Denza Z9 GT Marco Polo Challenge Overland Expedition Between Rome and Hong Kong Showcasing Range and Ultra Fast Charging
BYD kicked off an extensive overland expedition on the Marco Polo Challenge using its brand new Denza Z9 GT sedan to showcase the long range viability of new electric vehicles. Officially, the EV sedan’s journey between Rome and Hong Kong is designed to reenact the old Marco Polo route on a modern day expedition covering 43 days across continents.
This will act as a real world trial of both electric car ranges and continental charging networks. The new DENZA Z9 GT was utilized BYD first Flash Charging station in Italy ultra fast vehicle recharging for Europe. The 1000 kilometer range BYD DENZA Z9 GT equipped with an advanced battery package that provides up to 1036 km (643 miles) in the CLTC range standard, uses BYD’s first generation Flash Charging system for much faster and efficient charging. It is estimated the car can charge from 10 to 70 percent in as little as 5 minutes and achieve a full charge in as fast as nine minutes.
These ultra fast chargers have been installed throughout the 43 day long trip across continents to provide a seamless experience for the Denza Z9 GT and hopefully ease the anxiety of drivers using EV as there is concern regarding range of ev for long trip.
A top of the line electric vehicle, the Denza Z9 GT is equipped with three electric motors to produce an output of 1140 HP which lets the car accelerate from 0 100 kilometers per hour (60 mph) in 2.7 seconds. Currently on sale in Europe, the denza Z9 gt starting price from 115,000 Euros. BYD has also expressed plans to roll out more than 3,000 ultra fast chargers across the continent by the end of the year.
