DJI Osmo Pocket 4P Launch Features Dual Sensors One Inch Optics Mechanical Stabilization and Professional Creator Kits
DJI is the first action camera maker to equip its device with dual image sensors, with the official introduction of its Osmo Pocket 4P to the imaging lineup. Developed to help mobile creators and vloggers to produce steady and cinematic footage in high resolution with advanced tracking features on the move with a mechanical stabilizer built into the new hardware.
In terms of optics, the main camera module on the DJI Osmo Pocket 4P packs a one inch main image sensor with a 2.0 aperture, capable of achieving up to 17 stops of dynamic range thanks to LOFIC technology and will be at 20mm of focal length, equivalent, working in conjunction with the second module that enables 3x optical zoom up to 12x hybrid zoom with a focal length equivalent of 60mm and f1.8. The dual lens configuration will come with a mechanical 3 axis gimbal to ensure buttery smooth footage no matter how active the user is. The camera also supports a D Log 2 color profile for greater creative control during post production and can shoot at 240fps in 4K video recording. Intelligent Follow 8.0 software has been included which monitors up to two targets simultaneously, and can automatically zoom in up to 12x.
Internal storage has been set at 103 GB, the device is capable of transfer speeds of up to 800 megabytes per second over USB 3.1, and boasts 210 minutes of recording time, according to DJI. WiFi broadcasting is built in and the camera can act as a USB webcam. Features such as skin smoothing, saturation, and 6 different color correction profiles can be adjusted via the camera or via the DJI Mimo app.
In terms of pricing, two variants of the DJI Osmo Pocket 4P have been released on pre order in China. The base kit, available for $561, comes bundled with the camera, clip on flash unit, a handle accessory that includes a standard 1/4 inch tripod thread, a carrying pouch and a USB C cable. For professional videographers, a Creator combo package is available for $634, which also includes a mini tripod, a DJI Mic Mini 2 audio accessory, and a remote control with a built in electronic viewfinder.
