Honor X80 Pro Max Breaks Mobile Standards With 10000 Nits Brightness 11000 mAh Battery and Professional Durability at Mid Tier Prices
A new addition to the Honor smartphone range is the release of the Honor X80 Pro Max. Although classified as being mid tier in position, the hardware selection packs some high end specifications that exceed its flagship counterparts at present. Honor put their engineering efforts into two key areas, a record breaking display brightness and an unheard of battery capacity in a normal chassis form factor.
The Honor X80 Pro Max comes with a 6.8 inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2788x1280 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The display is flanked by ultra thin bezels of a thickness of just 1.3 millimeters. The screen's absolute highlight is the HDR support with a maximum brightness of 10,000 nits on a localized section of the panel which is a massive leap forward in mobile display technology. The high frequency PWM dimming rate of 3840 Hz helps cut down the strain on the eyes during usage in a dark environment.
The battery life is aided by an over sized 11,000 mAh capacity; a feature that has normally been only found in excessive, thick and rugged utility phones. Although the battery size is largely significant it is in a normal expected form factor. The device can accept 90W fast charge to boost the cell in no time, as well as capable of 27W reverse wired charged for feeding stateside hardware and accessory.
The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5. It has a RAM capacity of 8/12 GB with 256/512 GB non expandable internal memory capacity. Has the architecture of the Magic OS 10.0 platform based on Android 16 operating system.
The primary set of camera lenses consists of a 50 MP main sensor with apertures measured at f 1.88, and there is an option to record video in 4K setting. The front panel has an 8 MP camera used for selfies and video conferencing. Other hardware features comprise a fingerprint scanner implemented under the display, stereo speakers, a near field communication system for mobile transaction, Wi Fi 6, among others.
While this phone is not certified as Rugged, it is certified to withstand the most demanding conditions including IP68 IP69 and IP69K standards. According to honor, the device is freshwater submersible to 10 meters deep. Whereas the industry standard for consumer phones is about 1 meter.
Pricing for the Honor X80 Pro Max starts at 1999 yuan (about $295) for the 8GB+256GB version, while the top end version with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage will set you back 2799 yuan (about $413). It has been released in China so far, we are awaiting news of its global release.
