Kodak Charmera Millennium Edition Launches With Retro Y2K Aesthetic Vibrant Colors And Blind Box Packaging For Vintage Photography Fans
Digital photography giant Kodak has released a newly styled version of their Charmera digital micro camera, now branded Charmera Millennium Edition. While internally the gadget hasn’t changed much from the original device, its external body has undergone a complete facelift, catering to early 2000s trends. As per the specs published by Kodak, the camera’s purpose is to satisfy users who are after the retro aesthetic and vintage digital photography format.
The millennium themed camera is available in 6 new vibrant body colors and comes with various digital frames and color filters reminiscent of early Y2K photography in a lower resolution. Besides the common set, Kodak will produce a highly limited silver edition and sell it in a small quantity. In order to boost its collectability, the camera is packaged as a blind box, meaning you won’t know the actual color until the package is unsealed.
At the heart of the camera, you can find a 1/4 inch CMOS sensor coupled with an f/2.4 fixed aperture lens. The digital camera can produce JPEGs at a resolution of 1.6 megapixels, while digital video capture is possible in the resolution of 1440 x 1080 pixels at 30 fps. Such parameters of the internal imaging components create that blurry and aged picture typical for first consumer digital cameras.
The suggested retail price for Kodak Charmera Millennium Edition in the US market is $35 the camera also is available on amazon. Together with the lottery style packaging format, the device can be marketed as a gimmick item for users seeking the unique appeal of early digital images.
