Lenovo Launches ARM Powered AI Mini PC in China for Local Model Processing with Cixin P1 Silicon and Tianxi AI Software

Lenovo has launched an all in one mini PC in China called the Lenovo AI Mini PC. The PC is optimized for running AI models directly on the local hardware and uses an ARM powered silicon and the Tianxi Claw software to facilitate the deployment of AI workstreams, this follows a trend of compact computing systems designed for offline, on premise machine learning.

As mentioned in reports about hardware releases in China, Lenovo’s latest offering, which is driven by the Cixin P1 chip platform manufactured using a 6nm process node, utilizes 12 CPU cores and is coupled with a 10 core Immortalis G720 integrated graphics. The system has an onboard NPU that delivers an AI performance of 30 TOPS for the hardware; combined with the remaining silicon parts, the entire system can output a maximum of 45 TOPS for all AI tasks.

The PC comes preinstalled with the company’s proprietary Tianxi AI 4.0 operating system with its built in Tianxi Claw software layer enabling single setup deployment of machine learning functionality. Other functionalities include the ability to download additional skills and collaborate across multiple users and can sync directly with communications platforms such as QQ, WeChat, and Feishu.

The 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM in tandem with the 256GB of solid state storage should be enough to deal with desktop workarounds and the indexed local databases, as the localized operating system manages the available RAM to allow the user to continue to carry out complex machine learning tasks without slowdowns.

The mini PC, regardless of the physical size of the casing, comes with multiple physical connectivity ports, the rear and front IO panels offering 2 USB 3.2 Type A ports, 2 USB Type C ports and two USB 2.0 ports, and video output will be served by a DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 1.4 ports. High speed Internet will also be available via the Ethernet port, which is capable of transferring data at speeds up to 2.5 Gbps. Lenovo is offering its AI Mini PC in the Chinese market for $445.
