Logitech Launches G305 X Superlight Mouse and G316 X Keyboard

Logitech Unveils G305 X Superlight Wireless Mouse and G316 X Hot Swappable Mechanical Keyboard Focusing on Weight Reduction and 8kHz Polling Rates

Logitech made some significant upgrades to their gaming peripheral line up, announcing the G305 X Superlight wireless gaming mouse and the G316 X mechanical keyboard today. Both of the manufacturer's new pieces of equipment heavily focus on weight reduction, as well as absurd polling rates, to better fit competitive esports play. The products will both release at the end of the month.

One of the G305 X Superlight's biggest upgrades is its drastic weight reduction. Weighing 60g, it's almost half of the weight of its direct predecessor (99g). The Logitech peripheral maintained its original ergo shaped form and added 2 thumb buttons along with the button above the scroll wheel, which features customizable RGB lighting. In place of disposable batteries, the mouse features an internal rechargeable battery that has 130 hours of usable charge time with one full charge. Just 2 minutes with a charging cable will give you 3.5 hours of additional emergency gaming time.

As for what lies underneath, the mouse features the Hero 44K sensor and has 678 IPS tracking speed. Connectivity is broad as you can choose between Bluetooth, a wired USB connection, or a 2.4GHz wireless USB receiver. It also supports 4kHz polling rate, though competitive users will have the ability to upgrade to 8kHz with a separately sold Lightspeed transmitter. All of the sensor adjustments as well as lighting customization are done through Logitech's standard G Hub software. The G305 X Superlight gaming mouse is set to release for $79.

Next up for the mechanical keyboard enthusiasts, Logitech is releasing the G316 X. The keyboard is full sized, so it comes with a full numerical keypad, and it features a hot swappable PCB. This means users won't have to do any soldering, and they can put whatever switches they want into the keyboard. It comes pre installed with your choice of linear or tactile switches, and it has double shot PBT keycaps for the keys. The highlight of the keyboard, technical speaking, is that it has a built in 8kHz polling rate, reducing input latency down to 0.125ms.

Other additions to the keyboard include a built in LED matrix display above the numpad and a translucent multi purpose dial to go along with it. You can change volume, skip audio tracks, toggle RGB settings, and adjust polling rates all with just the dial. The chassis is built with an internal dampening gasket to reduce ping and noise, and the keyboard as a whole, with the detachable USB Type C cord, comes in at 920g. There's also 30 zone RGB lighting along the edges, and every individual key can be customized with individual RGB lighting. The G316 X mechanical keyboard will launch with a price of $119.99.
