Motorola Edge 70 Pro Plus Launches with Dimensity Chipset and 6500mAh Battery

Motorola Edge 70 Pro Plus Arrives in India with Advanced 144Hz Display and High Capacity Silicon Carbon Battery Featuring Professional Triple 50MP Cameras

Motorola has announced a new premium smartphone for the Indian market: the Edge 70 Pro Plus. It is placed at the top of Motorola's Edge 70 series lineup and is positioned above the standard Edge 70, the Edge 70 Fusion, and the Edge 70 Pro. The device's primary characteristics are its top tier specifications with extended battery life and a stellar display, as detailed on the official Motorola India website.

The display on the Edge 70 Pro Plus will be an 6.8 inch AMOLED display with a 2772x1272 pixel resolution. It can also be set to a 144Hz refresh rate which is supported by the device. Furthermore, it is capable of reaching 5200 nits brightness for bright environments and outdoors with direct sunlight. Internally, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro Plus will use a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme chipset that uses an LPDDR5X RAM and a UFS 4.1 internal storage for high workloads like games which would make it thermal throttling.

The triple camera setup on the rear is a 50 MP Sony LYT 710 sensor, 50 MP periscope lens, and a 50 MP ultra wide angle sensor. It also has a 50 MP sensor for the front camera which uses autofocus technology, optimal for high quality video calls or taking selfies.

With a 6500mAh silicon carbon battery capacity, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro Plus ensures longer battery life. Silicon carbon battery tech allowed for a thin profile for the device despite a large capacity. Wired fast charging of 90W as well as 15W wireless charging would speed up the charging process. It's also IP68 and IP69 certified so that water jets and deep submersion in water won't affect it. It comes with Android 16.

The Motorola Edge 70 Pro Plus comes in 3 Pantone certified finishes, including Pantone Stormy Sea, Pantone Zinfandel, and Pantone Chicory Coffee. The smartphone is priced at ₹47,999 (about $500) and will be sold in one variant of 12GB RAM + 256GB internal storage.
