OPPO Reno15 A arrives with 7000 mAh battery and triple IP69 protection ratings for robust everyday practicability
OPPO has expanded its mid range smartphone segment with the Reno15 A. The latter primarily emphasizes on good battery life, expandable storage, and environmental protections. It aims to strike a healthy balance between robust hardware build and everyday practicability.
The front of the device is equipped with a 6.6 inch AMOLED display that supports a 120 Hz refresh rate and outputs a peak brightness of 1400 nits at Full HD Plus resolution. To prevent physical damage the display panel is shielded by AGC Dragontrail STAR D+ protective glass. A standout feature of the chassis is its robust build, which boasts triple certification ratings of IP66, IP68, and IP69, providing complete sealing against dust, high pressure water sprays, and prolonged submersion.
Internal performance is achieved through the use of a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor. Customers have the option of choosing a model with 8 GB or 12 GB of LPDDR4X memory. Internal built in storage uses the much newer UFS 3.1 technology available in a 128 GB or 256 GB options, expandable with a microSD card slot. In order to maximize usage cycles from each unit, OPPO integrated a 7000 mAh battery with 80 watt fast charging.
The back camera module combines a 50 megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilization to minimize motion blur. Working with the main sensor are a 8 megapixel ultra wide camera sensor and a 2 megapixel macro module. The front camera sensor is also 50 megapixel in resolution and is used for selfies and portrait images. You also get an NFC chip built in for wireless contactless payment.
The OPPO Reno15 A, available in Dark Blue, Light Blue and Pink in the Japanese area, has recently been put on sale. The lightest entry begins at $400, and it features 8 GB of RAM along with 128 GB of internal storage. The most powerful one which costs $480 has 12 GB of RAM coupled with 256 GB of storage.
