Vivo X Fold 6 Foldable Smartphone Launches with 200 MP Zeiss Optics and MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Power in Ultra Slim Design

Vivo has launched the new, X Fold 6. Its the key feature of high end camera capability within an of the thinnest of chassis to date. In the domestic avatar release in China, vivo claims its hardware is designed specifically to compete against the best professional camera phones with high end performance. It features rounded edges against a metallic 2.5D middle frame, with an redefined hinge structure made from premium strength composite elements that eliminate the system crease from the internal screen.

The device is built to withstand harsh environments, carrying IP5X dust protection alongside IPX8 and IPX9 water resistance ratings. It is also designed to operate in extreme cold, maintaining functionality at temperatures down to minus 20 degrees Celsius. The smartphone features 2 distinct screens. The internal folding display is an 8.02 inch Samsung M14 panel, while the exterior display utilizes a 6.51 inch BOE panel. Both displays are built on LTPO AMOLED technology, supporting variable refresh rates from 1 to 120 Hz and reaching a peak brightness of 5000 nits. The panels have received TÜV Rheinland eye comfort certification and can drop to a minimum brightness of 1 nit for comfortable viewing in pitch black environments.

The performance is handled by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition processor, paired with a Home Linx multi band coverage chip, which optimizes the device wireless connection performance by having an embedded chip to increase the Wi Fi antenna system signal reception. In order to provide the architecture with a power source on a relatively slim device design, Vivo implemented a 7000 mAh capacity battery developed with a next generation silicon carbon based anode material. The battery can achieve semi solid state architecture, which enhances the energy density while reduces the heat generated in heavy loads; and supports 80W of wired fast charge as well as 40W of inductive charge.

And the biggest drawcard for the X Fold 6 is of course the rear camera unit, designed in conjunction with Zeiss. The primary camera kit houses a 200 MP Samsung HBP sensor. This is coupled with a 50 MP ultrawide camera and a 50 MP LYT602 telephoto camera that can achieve 3x zoom. The production supports a teleconverter add on for 200mm with all data sent off for processing to the in house Vivo V3+ imaging chip.

Powered by OriginOS 6 Fold, based on Android 16 operating system, it features the Atomic Workbench multitasking interface, it offers to split the huge 8.02 inch internal screen into several work zones to simultaneously run notes, web browsers, and messaging services.

At present Preorder are in China for beginning ships soon. Base model with 12GB RAM and 256GB solid state storage cost 7999 yuan so almost about 1175 USD. Just upgrading to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage costs 10999 yuan about 1619 USD. Whole camera kit with included special teleconverter attachment is priced at 11999 yuan so about 1765 USD.
