ASUS Announces ROG Strix XG259QNSR Esports Monitor with 420 Hz Refresh Rate

ASUS has announced the ROG Strix XG259QNSR, a fast esports monitor aimed at competitive gamers. The display pairs a 420 Hz refresh rate with a rapid 0.3 ms response time to eliminate motion blur. However, the company has not yet confirmed the retail price or release window.

The monitor features a 24.5 inch IPS panel with a standard resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. Competitive players will benefit from the ELMB Sync technology, which works to reduce ghosting during fast paced action. Color accuracy is also a priority, with the screen covering 90% of the P3 color space and supporting VESA DisplayHDR 400.

Physical connectivity on the back includes HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, and USB A ports. Gamers can also plug their headsets directly into the integrated 3.5 mm audio jack. The included stand offers full ergonomic adjustments including height, tilt, and swivel. The company plans to sell the monitor in both black and white color options.
