BIWIN has launched the TGS601, an industrial grade solid state drive designed for extreme environmental conditions. The hardware combines native storage capacities up to 8TB with wide temperature tolerance ranging from minus 40 to 85 degrees Celsius. But this specialized drive is targeted strictly at industrial servers and edge computing setups rather than standard consumer PCs.
Maintaining performance under heavy write loads is a common problem for high capacity storage. BIWIN addresses this by offering the drive in 4TB and 8TB configurations with native architecture support. Read speeds reach up to 560 megabytes per second, and write speeds top out at 520 megabytes per second. A full capacity DRAM cache keeps latency low and ensures write speeds do not plunge even when the drive is completely full.
Industrial deployments require hardware that can survive harsh settings. To manage extreme heat, the drive uses multiple temperature control strategies and undergoes extensive system testing. These safeguards make it suitable for transit video monitoring, on board vehicle tracking, power grid monitoring, and network data security rigs.
Video recording demands continuous write performance without interruption. The enterprise grade architecture of this drive supports writing 24 channels of high definition video at 1.5 megabytes per second. This capacity prevents frame drops during continuous recording. The device is optimized for intensive visual AI tasks, including rail transit monitoring, mobile digital video recorders, and smart edge analytics.
Data loss from sudden power failures can ruin expensive equipment. The TGS601 uses hardware level protection alongside power loss protection to prevent data corruption. Internal and external RAM ECC works with 4K LDPC decoding and RAID redundancy to keep data pathways secure. On the firmware side, a proprietary Win REC algorithm optimizes garbage collection and wear leveling to extend the drive lifespan to 2,500,000 hours of mean time between failures.
Supply chain disruptions have forced many electronics manufacturers to source parts closer to home. BIWIN developed the TGS601 using a 100% localized bill of materials. Every component, from the main controller chip and the 3D TLC NAND memory to the DDR cache and passive parts, is sourced domestically. The company handles firmware development and packaging in house, ensuring a stable supply pipeline.
