Chinese automotive manufacturer BYD utilized the Goodwood Festival of Speed as the platform to reveal the official pricing structure for its flagship electric sports car the Denza Z. Operating under the premium Denza subbrand which was created to challenge established European performance labels the new model features a massive power output of 1582 horsepower generated by 3 independent electric motors. The performance metrics of the top tier variants position the vehicle as a direct competitor to traditional high performance combustion vehicles but at a significantly lower entry cost.
The Denza Z is built upon an 800 volt electrical architecture utilizing the proprietary BYD e3 platform. The interior of the Denza Z centers on a digital driver interface featuring an 8.8 inch instrument display and a primary 12.8 inch infotainment touchscreen running proprietary software compatible with Google services. Audio options are tailored by variant with the Coupe and Racing models offering a theatrical grade sound system with 12 speakers while the Spider model utilizes a 10 speaker layout.
