BYD Denza Z Electric Supercar Official Pricing Performance Specs and Launch Dates Revealed

Chinese automotive manufacturer BYD utilized the Goodwood Festival of Speed as the platform to reveal the official pricing structure for its flagship electric sports car the Denza Z. Operating under the premium Denza subbrand which was created to challenge established European performance labels the new model features a massive power output of 1582 horsepower generated by 3 independent electric motors. The performance metrics of the top tier variants position the vehicle as a direct competitor to traditional high performance combustion vehicles but at a significantly lower entry cost.

The Denza Z is built upon an 800 volt electrical architecture utilizing the proprietary BYD e3 platform. This system integrates an in house electro hydraulic steering system designed to optimize high speed maneuvering and stability. Power is stored in a 76 kilowatt hour BYD Blade Battery 2.0 which supports ultra fast charging capabilities. The vehicle can replenish its battery capacity from 10% to 70% in only 5 minutes reducing charging downtime during high performance driving sessions.

To manage the immense power output BYD equipped the supercar with the DiSus M intelligent magnetorheological suspension system. This active suspension setup is capable of rapid adjustments to absorb road imperfections and includes unique software configurations that allow the vehicle to perform automated body movements such as jumping. Physically the vehicle measures 4780 millimeters in length 1990 millimeters in width and 1350 millimeters in height with a wheelbase of 2780 millimeters. This footprint makes it larger than a Porsche 911 and comparable to a Mercedes AMG GT Coupe though the Denza Z offers superior power metrics than both rivals which max out at 701 horsepower and 1153 horsepower respectively.

The vehicle will be distributed in 3 distinct body configurations with initial pricing announced for the United Kingdom market. The standard Coupe variant achieves the sprint from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 2.25 seconds with an operational range of 410 kilometers and a retail price of 192000 dollars. The Spider convertible variant completes the same speed sprint in 2.3 seconds offering 400 kilometers of range for 215000 dollars. The track focused Racing variant represents the pinnacle of the lineup achieving a 0 to 100 sprint in 1.96 seconds when equipped with optional semi slicks a top speed of 350 kilometers per hour and a range of 380 kilometers at a cost of 232000 dollars. This pricing structure places the top tier variant below the Porsche 911 Turbo S which retails for 266794 dollars.

The interior of the Denza Z centers on a digital driver interface featuring an 8.8 inch instrument display and a primary 12.8 inch infotainment touchscreen running proprietary software compatible with Google services. Audio options are tailored by variant with the Coupe and Racing models offering a theatrical grade sound system with 12 speakers while the Spider model utilizes a 10 speaker layout. Order books are scheduled to open during the late summer months with the first wave of customer deliveries expected to commence before the end of 2026.
