Cooler Master Launches MasterFan A Series and M Series Aluminum Cooling Fans Optimized for High Pressure Liquid Cooling Radiators and Cybenetics Diamond Performance
Cooler Master has introduced the MasterFan A Series and MasterFan M Series cooling fans which are specifically designed to operate with the higher static pressure required by liquid cooling radiator blocks. Both series have been awarded the highest Cybenetics Labs Diamond rating for acoustic and thermal performance. The main innovation in these units is the extensive use of structural metal to ensure maximum rigidity and prevent distortion during operation.
The MasterFan A120 features a 120mm frame and an impeller made entirely of aluminum. Cooler Master engineers chose metal as the construction material because it holds its shape and exhibits nearly no deformation at targeted RPM levels. This stability allowed the design team to implement a minuscule 0.6mm gap between the fan blades and the frame. This tight tolerance prevents air from passing around the edge of the blade which leads to maximum cooling efficiency over dense radiator fins.
Because the aluminum impeller construction is heavier than standard plastic blades the MasterFan A120 employs a 3 part blade construction to manage total weight. The system is powered by a 3 phase 6 pole motor operating on a dual ball bearing assembly. To prevent vibrations each individual fan is calibrated using a 2 stage industrial grade calibration system. The chassis dimensions are 120mm by 120mm by 30mm which is thicker than standard 25mm fans to allow for a deeper blade pitch and better performance.
The Cooler Master MasterFan A120 is the recommended standard model for general use with speeds ranging from 0 to 2500 RPM. This produces an airflow of 76.9 CFM with 6.1 mm of static water pressure and a maximum noise level of 29.7 decibels. To handle extreme thermals Cooler Master offers the MasterFan A120 FC which runs from 0 to 4000 RPM. This flagship model offers 121.73 CFM of airflow with 13.15 mm of static water pressure at 42.5 decibels. This high end model is designed to compete directly with other premium radiator fans like the Phanteks T30.
Water cooling enthusiasts who prefer color options and a flexible appearance can choose the MasterFan M120 ARGB. This fan features a metal frame with a liquid crystal polymer plastic impeller and uses a magnetic dynamic bearing for minimized friction. It also includes Gen 2 addressable RGB lighting in the hub. The M120 ARGB has a speed range of 0 to 2300 RPM and produces 75.2 CFM and 5.4 mm of static water pressure while staying below 27 decibels on the noise scale.
The retail pricing structure reflects the high quality and performance materials utilized in each model. The liquid crystal polymer MasterFan M120 ARGB serves as the entry model at a price point of 17 Euros. The all aluminum baseline MasterFan A120 is available for 24 Euros and the flagship high speed MasterFan A120 FC model is available for 32 Euros. Every model in the lineup utilizes the same 30 millimeter thick frame profile to increase airflow performance on liquid cooling loops.
