New HP Omen 15 Hardware Refresh Specifications Including Intel Arrow Lake HX Processors AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX Options And Display Panel Configurations
HP has announced new hardware options for its portable gaming range, covering the high end and more budget end of the HyperX Omen 15 series. HP official product pages show that this small form factor machine is now offered with the higher end Intel Arrow Lake HX silicon, and the lower price point has been reduced with AMD systems starting at only $1,699.
The biggest addition to the range is the inclusion of the new 275HX and the flagship 290HX Plus processors from Intel Core Ultra 9 series. If AMD based systems are preferred then the Ryzen 9 8940HX clocked options is available though only paired with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop graphics card at the moment.
Memory and storage max out at 32 GB of DDR5 memory and 1 TB of PCIe Gen 5 solid state storage. To pair with this, HP provides 2 options of 15.3 inch display panel to choose from. The standard configuration provides a 1200p IPS panel running at 165 Hz refresh rate with 400 nits of peak brightness. Users have an option to shell out extra $40 to get a 1600p IPS panel running at 180 Hz variable refresh rate, and a 500 nits of peak brightness.
All iterations of the new laptop use the standard 70 Wh 4 cell battery, whether the machine is powered by an AMD or Intel chip. The Intel machine has been gone down to 1,999$ from the original launch 2,099$. The AMD based machines are now only 1,699$ in their entry levels. For those who want to have the machine available, the new base model with all the highest end parts is 3,329$.
