Killing Floor 3 Season 4 Operation Shadow Hunter Released

Tripwire Interactive has released Season 4 for Killing Floor 3, titled Operation Shadow Hunter. The update introduces a fresh boss fight on a Nordic oil rig, the return of the Gunslinger class, and an intermediate difficulty tier for experienced players. To celebrate the 1 year anniversary of the shooter, the game is also running a free trial weekend alongside a major half price discount.

The primary setting for this update takes players to a remote oil rig located in the North Sea to confront a biological outbreak. At the end of the mission, squads must face Dr Moorcroft, a genetically modified boss designed to challenge team positioning and coordination. Survival on the rig requires tight cooperation, as careless movement will quickly result in a wipe.

Combat options expand with the return of the Gunslinger perk, which allows players to dual wield pistols and utilize high tech precision weaponry against the incoming ZED hordes. For players who find the standard hard setting too easy but are not ready for the extreme Hell on Earth mode, Tripwire has added the Suicidal difficulty level. This bridge difficulty provides a balanced ramp in challenge for progressing teams.

The update coincides with the 1 year anniversary of the game. For players who have not purchased the title, the entire game is free to download and play during the current weekend across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X, as well as the Series S. Additionally, a 50% discount is available on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and console shops, running until the end of the month.
