Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 Tablet Launches With JBL 9 Unit Speaker System And 2.5K 120Hz Display

The Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 fits a JBL 9 unit Pro speaker system for thumping bass and fuller sound. Also featuring a 2.5K display with Dolby Vision and 800 nits peak brightness, the new 12.1 inch pad is now available in the US and Canada starting at $399.99. The launch follows a quiet release in European markets last month.

Lenovo has focused heavily on the audio capabilities of this updated model. The 9 unit speaker system replaces the 8 speaker setup found on the original version. The physical acoustic box has also expanded to 43cc, which is almost double the size of the previous 22cc chamber. This extra volume allows the tablet to function as a standalone Bluetooth speaker for mobile phones, complete with Dolby Atmos and Hi Res Audio support.

The display received an extensive upgrade. The screen has grown to 12.1 inches, up from the older 11.5 inch panel. The 2560 x 1600 resolution display now runs at a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and reaches up to 800 nits of peak brightness under high brightness conditions. A built in kickstand at the back allows for hands free viewing in both portrait and landscape orientations.

Powering the media tablet is the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor. While global variants can support up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, North American buyers are currently limited to an 8GB memory and 128GB storage configuration. The tablet ships with Android 16 and includes a promise of software support through Android 18. Additional hardware features include a 13MP rear camera, an 8MP front camera, a 10200mAh battery with 45W charging, Wi Fi 6 connectivity, and a slot for storage expansion.

According to the official Lenovo product listings, the tablet is priced at $399.99 in the US and CA$559.99 in Canada. Interestingly, customers purchasing the tablet in the UK receive a larger 256GB storage option for their purchase. This makes the North American version a slightly different value proposition compared to the European releases.
