Minimal Company Launches Minimal Phone 2 Featuring a Premium Aluminum Build and Enhanced QWERTY Keyboard to Improve Digital Well Being and User Focus
Minimal Company has released the Minimal Phone 2, the second version of its minimalist button based mobile phone designed for digital free lives. Based on statements from company representatives, the new model includes an upgraded build quality, improved processing hardware, and refined specifications to offer a more stable experience than the original product.
The most obvious physical change in the new device is a switch from the previously used plastic shell to a smaller matte aluminum enclosure. This design change decreases the overall footprint of the unit while making it more solid. Other physical revisions include a reworked physical QWERTY keyboard layout which allows for easier typing accuracy and more inherent tactility. Additionally, a new LED indicator light has been added to the top section of the front panel to provide a first line at a glance notification indicator while not impacting screen usage.
Minimal Company has yet to provide specific details regarding the display technology found in the new model as compared to the electronic ink screen utilized in its predecessor. Because the keyboard interface remains the centerpiece of the product, upgraded hardware under the hood features a more robust central processing unit. The device also includes a significantly remodeled operating system that comprises a collection of new user interfaces to help users finish tasks while avoiding distractions.
A stable launch date for the Minimal Phone 2 has not been disclosed, but the project remains committed toward serving a select set of users who wish to avoid typical attention hungry mobile applications while keeping communication essentials intact. Details regarding the targeted hardware release date will follow in the coming months as the design team pushes forward toward full production.
