MOZA Racing Renewed as Title Sponsor for FIA F4 Global Esports Championship Featuring a $35,000 Prize Pool and Advanced iRacing Technical Integration
Sim racing hardware manufacturer MOZA Racing has renewed its role as the title sponsor and a partner for the FIA F4 Global Esports Championship. As per an official event statement, the championship serves as a key entry into high level competition for virtual open wheel sim racers. The 2024 season staged on the iRacing platform will bring some of the best sim racers from around the world to compete for a prize purse of $35,000.
The road to the championship has started with the regional qualifying series to narrow down the large pool of drivers worldwide. Drivers will race on the Regional Tour in three different geographical regions namely the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. The ranking system filters the best drivers in these regions to earn them a shot at the international final. The best 10 drivers from each of the three regions will be directly transferred into the global final bracket, resulting in 30 drivers selected for the global finals.
The worldwide phase of the tournament will be held in the traditional format of eight rounds across four double headers. The competitive period is scheduled between October and November, with each of the rounds streamed live through official iRacing social media channels. Therefore, the time constraints demand drivers to be at their best and most consistent form over two consecutive weeks to win part of the purse.
Partnerships not only encompass marketing and branding but also involve the technical integration of hardware manufacturers and simulation software. As an official partner of this platform, MOZA Racing produces premium performance steering wheels and wheelbases customized for high end software physics. This includes native connection to the 360Hz Mode and Wheel LFE protocols of iRacing which send intricate force feedback signals through the wheel shaft to enable depth perception and fine granularity of grip and track surface textures.
This technical synergy of hardware is crucial for the F4 format where the ability to win is dictated by accurate placement of your vehicle and sensitive steering inputs. By transmitting data at a rapid rate, this hardware enables players to respond quickly when racing aggressively, which is fundamental for competitive wheel to wheel racing. This hardware synergized with the competitive caliber of the competition makes this tournament a favorite among those on the sim racing circuit.
