MSI Launches PRO MAX EDGE AI Plus Desktop with AMD Ryzen AI Max Plus Platform

MSI has launched the PRO MAX EDGE AI plus, a compact 4 liter desktop built specifically for running local artificial intelligence workloads. According to the official launch details from MSI, this tiny computer relies on the AMD Ryzen AI Max plus 300 Series platform to deliver up to 126 TOPS of total performance. However, the manufacturer has not yet confirmed pricing or a release date for the new system.

The system runs on the AMD Ryzen AI Max plus 395 processor, which is designed to handle demanding local processing tasks. This processor integrates up to 96GB of variable graphics memory and RDNA 3.5 graphics with 40 compute units. The system also includes an XDNA 2 NPU that provides 50 TOPS of dedicated speed. By keeping data processing local, the computer helps businesses protect sensitive information without relying on remote servers.

Unified memory is the main feature that allows this system to run large language models. The desktop supports up to 128GB of fast LPDDR5X 8000 unified memory. This architecture bypasses the standard graphics memory limitations of traditional setup configurations, letting the system allocate up to 96GB directly to graphics tasks. Because of this massive pool, users can run models containing up to 120 billion parameters directly on their desks.

To keep temperatures stable in the compact 4 liter chassis, MSI installed their Frozr AI Pro Cooling system along with Glacier Armor. This thermal setup prevents performance drops during long processing sessions. For users who need even more power, the desktop supports multi system clustering. This feature allows multiple units to link together, scaling resources to run massive models with up to 670 billion parameters while keeping the computing entirely on site.
