ONERugged recently launched 4 rugged Windows 11 tablets built for challenging outdoor work sites. Powered by Intel Lunar Lake processors with integrated NPUs, the new hardware handles local AI tasks like machine vision and equipment monitoring in real time. The lineup includes 10.1 inch and 12.2 inch displays tailored for either stylus input or glove wearers.
The series splits into 2 distinct branches to suit different field tasks. The I series, which includes the EM I10L and EM I20L models, is designed for precise tasks and works with a digital pen. The M series, containing the M10L and M20L models, is built for heavy duty manual work where operators cannot shed their protective gear. The screen on the M series registers touch inputs even through thick gloves. Camera setups also differ between the 2 branches. While all units share a 13 megapixel rear camera, the I series has a 2 megapixel front camera and the M series upgrades to a 5 megapixel lens.
These tablets are built to take a beating in extreme environments. According to the ONERugged hardware release details, they carry IP65 and MIL STD 810H certifications, which means they can survive drops from 1.22 meters onto hard surfaces. They are also sealed against dust and water while resisting heavy electrostatic discharges. Operators can run these machines in temperatures ranging from minus 20 to plus 60 degrees. Inside, the base model runs on an Intel Core Ultra 5 226V chip. If you need more computing power, the company offers options with the Core Ultra 7 256V and 258V.
Field workstations cannot afford to overheat under load, so the company fitted these devices with an active cooling fan. To keep teams working through long shifts, the tablets use a clever dual battery design. A small internal battery keeps the system running while you swap out the main removable battery on the fly. This system delivers up to 11 hours of runtime. Memory options are locked at 32 GB of LPDDR5x RAM with up to 1 TB of solid state storage.
Wireless connections include Wi Fi 6E and Bluetooth, with the option to add a 5G modem for cellular data. The physical port selection includes a Thunderbolt 4 port. Businesses can also customize the devices with specialized tools, including an NFC module, a RS 232 serial port, or a 1D 2D barcode scanner. This means field crews can leave their delicate consumer gear behind and manage everything from a single industrial terminal.
