AAEON Pico ADN2 Single Board Computer Brings 48 Hour Backup Power Support

AAEON has released the Pico ADN2, a compact single board computer built to survive extreme industrial environments. Measuring just 100 by 72 millimeters, the board can connect to an external uninterruptible power supply for up to 48 hours of continuous backup power. It runs on Intel Alder Lake N processors and supports both Windows and Linux operating systems.

Industrial factory floors and transit vehicles can be brutal on electronics. Sudden power outages and violent vibrations frequently disrupt standard computers. AAEON designed this board specifically to bypass those headaches. Instead of standard loose ports, the unit uses lockable connectors that stay firmly plugged in during heavy shaking. The board also operates in temperatures ranging from minus 20 up to plus 70 degrees Celsius, allowing it to function inside unconditioned outdoor cabinets.

Buyers can configure the system with two different chips depending on the workload. The base option features a 4 core Intel Processor N97, while heavier automation tasks can step up to an 8 core Intel Core i3 N305. Both configurations come with 16GB of soldered LPDDR5 memory to prevent loose RAM sticks during transit. Graphics processing runs through Intel UHD Graphics, which can drive up to 3 independent displays at the same time.

Connectivity on the board covers both legacy machinery and modern networking. You get 2 gigabit ethernet jacks, USB 3.0, and USB 2.0 ports for peripherals. For legacy factory equipment, the board includes serial headers supporting RS 232, RS 422, and RS 485 protocols. Storage and wireless upgrades run through an mSATA or mPCIe slot, alongside an M.2 socket dedicated to Wi Fi modules.
