Abxylute has launched the J8, a split controller designed specifically for the Nintendo Switch 2. The accessory uses magnetic TMR joysticks alongside mechanical switches for the face buttons and D Pad. It is currently available directly from the official Abxylute website for $89.
The standout technical upgrade is the inclusion of Tunneling Magnetoresistance sensors inside the analog sticks. These TMR sensors offer higher precision and resist stick drift far better than standard potentiometer parts. Abxylute also packed mechanical microswitches under the action buttons and directional pad, rating them for over 5,000,000 presses. The triggers use a short travel setup with a light actuation force to speed up reaction times in fast games. Built in 9 axis motion sensors handle tilt controls.
Comfort is a clear priority here. Unlike tiny standard Joycons, the J8 features full size ergonomic grips with magnetic front plates that pop off for quick styling changes. Players also get 1 pair of remap buttons on the rear along with custom RGB lighting zones. Each side contains its own 500 mAh battery, bringing the total weight to about 91.8 grams per side. Individual units measure 116 by 54 by 36 millimeters, making them easy to slide into travel cases.
