Acer has launched the Nitro 16 gaming laptop, powered by the flagship AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti laptop GPU. The 16 inch machine features a 240Hz display, a cooling system delivering 215W of total power, and a 92Whr battery. Known in China as the Shadow Knight Dragon 8 Pro under model code AN16 A91, the laptop is available starting at 22999 CNY avout 3421.37$.
Raw performance is the main focus here. The machine combines AMD top tier 3D V Cache mobile silicon with Nvidia latest graphics hardware. To manage internal heat, Acer built a cooling setup using 2 fans, 5 heat pipes, and 4 separate exhaust channels. This allows the internal components to draw up to 215W under full gaming workloads without immediately throttling speeds.
The screen is built specifically for fast paced competitive gaming. It uses a 16 inch panel running at 2560x1600 resolution with a 240Hz refresh rate and 500 nits of peak brightness. Color accuracy reaches 100% of the DCI P3 spectrum. On the outside, the laptop features a frosted metal top cover accented by a color changing illuminated logo. The keyboard offers 2.0mm key travel and 4 zone RGB lighting.
Buyers get 32GB of DDR5 SO DIMM memory and a 1TB solid state drive out of the box. Acer also included an empty M.2 slot for adding a second drive later. For video calls and logins, the display houses an FHD IR camera compatible with Windows facial recognition. Port selection includes 2 USB4 ports, 3 USB A ports, and a 2.5GbE wired network port alongside Wi Fi 6E wireless connectivity.
