AGON by AOC has revealed the AGP327KG, introducing the world first 5K gaming monitor equipped with G SYNC Pulsar technology. The 31.5 inch display runs at a native 144Hz and brings variable frequency backlight pulsing to a massive 5120x2880 resolution. The screen is making its public debut on the show floor at Gamescom.
Earlier G SYNC Pulsar screens maxed out at 27 inch sizes with 2560x1440 panels. This new model steps up sharpness by timing the backlight pulses to match fluctuating frame rates, eliminating blur during rapid camera pans in competitive shooters like Counter Strike 2. Specialist testing praised the technology during early evaluation runs.
The clarity difference under motion was undeniable. One was hard to parse under fast movement, the other, completely legible.
Beyond raw pixel density, the AGP327KG packs an ambient light sensor that automatically tunes brightness and color temperature to match room lighting conditions throughout the day.
Adjusting these display features will soon get much simpler. Changing Pulsar settings previously required clicking through the physical on screen display menu. Nvidia confirmed that G SYNC Pulsar controls will move directly into the official desktop Nvidia app following an upcoming Game Ready driver update.
Asus also used the trade show to display ultra fast panels built for competitive esports players. The ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace pushes a Tandem WOLED panel to 700Hz at 1080p resolution. For players wanting QD OLED hardware, Asus prepared 2 fresh options, consisting of the 24.5 inch XG259QDPG hitting 540Hz and the XG259QDNS reaching 360Hz.
LG brought its own speed milestone with the 25G590B. Priced at $999, the 24.5 inch IPS monitor delivers a native 1000Hz refresh rate at 1080p, with overclocking headroom reaching up to 1100Hz through DisplayPort 2.1. The included stand features numbered measurement scales so players can lock in their physical desk setup with precision.
