AMD Radeon RX 9000 Series Prices Rise Amid VRAM Cost Increases

AMD is raising prices across its entire Radeon graphics card lineup. According to new distributor leaks on Bobantang, the company has released its updated sales guidance pricing for the RX 9000 series for the third quarter of 2026. Rising memory costs are pushing retail prices up, with some large memory models seeing hikes of nearly 50% compared to their initial launch prices.

The price increases hit premium cards the hardest. The RX 9070 XT now carries a recommended sales guidance price of 6999 RMB ($979 USD), which is a massive jump from its original 5599 RMB ($783 USD) launch price. That represents a 40% markup for the flagship card. The standard RX 9070 rises to 5599 RMB ($783 USD) from its 5199 RMB ($727 USD) base, and the RX 9070 GRE climbs to 4599 RMB ($643 USD) from 3999 RMB ($559 USD).

Mid tier and budget models are also affected by the price adjustments. The RX 9060 XT with 16GB of video memory sees the largest percentage jump, climbing 48% to a new guidance price of 4299 RMB ($601 USD) from its 3599 RMB ($503 USD) base. For buyers on a budget, the 8GB version of the RX 9060 XT rises to 3099 RMB ($433 USD) from 2699 RMB ($377 USD). The entry level RX 7650 GRE also experiences a slight bump, moving up to 2499 RMB ($349 USD) from its 2359 RMB ($330 USD) launch price.

This price adjustment was originally planned for earlier in the summer. AMD held back on the decision because of weak consumer demand and fears of losing market share to Nvidia, which has kept its pricing stable. Major board partners like Asus and Gigabyte have already begun raising their wholesale prices. However, major online retail platforms like JD have not fully updated their pricing yet, meaning buyers might still find cards at original rates for a brief window.
