ASUS has listed a new ROG Swift gaming monitor on its global product page. Pairing a 26.5 inch QHD screen with a 500 Hz QD OLED panel from Samsung Display, the Swift OLED PG27AQDPR features 0.03 ms response times and advanced anti burn in protection. The company has not announced an official launch date or retail pricing yet.
Let us look at the panel hardware. This is a generation 3 panel. The speed is absurd. Reaching 500 Hz on an OLED panel means competitive gaming is about to get incredibly smooth. ASUS uses a translucent rear finish and a redesigned stand to make the package look cleaner. According to reports from Notebookcheck, the monitor shares core display specifications with the XG27AQDPG but swaps out the dot matrix back cover for a modern design. Color accuracy holds steady with Delta E under 2. You get 99% coverage of the P3 color gamut and 145% of the sRGB space, backed by 10 bit color depth. HDR peaks at 1000 nits, while standard desktop tasks run at 300 nits.
OLED burn in is always a threat. ASUS built a specialized protection suite called OLED Care Pro to handle this problem. The technology relies on a Neo Proximity Sensor that automatically dims the screen when you step away from your desk. It also dims the taskbar and static icons while occasionally shifting pixels. There is also an Anti Flicker 2.0 system to protect your eyes during long sessions.
Competitive play requires compatibility with modern graphics cards. The monitor is compatible with G SYNC, Adaptive Sync, and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. Input lag is minimized using GameFast Input technology. Gamers also get built in assistants called AI Visual, AI Crosshair, and AI Shadow Boost to help highlight dark corners in competitive matches.
Connecting your computer is straightforward. The IO panel includes 1 DisplayPort 1.4 connection, 2 HDMI 2.1 FRL ports, 2 USB A ports, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The stand includes a 1/4 inch tripod socket on the top for mounting cameras. There is also a built in ROG logo projector that shines onto your desk space. The stand supports height, tilt, swivel, and rotate adjustments, allowing you to turn the screen into a portrait orientation easily.
