DaxAI Robotics Demonstrates Rideable Qiji X1 Quadruped Robot

DaxAI Robotics has showcased the Qiji X1, a four legged robot built specifically for human riders. The machine features a dedicated saddle, front handlebars, and a heavy payload capacity of up to 300 kg. However, the robotic mount remains an early demonstration prototype with slow and cautious movement.

During live presentations at the World Robot Conference in Beijing, the machine drew attention by walking across the floor with a humanoid robot sitting on its back. Human riders also tested the controls directly. A passenger sits upright in the saddle and steers the robotic mount using traditional handlebars, guiding the 4 articulated legs across the floor.

Ditching wheels and continuous tracks entirely, the Qiji X1 relies on mechanical legs to navigate uneven surfaces. While conventional wheeled machines struggle on steep inclines or stairs, walking robots can step over obstacles. The current model moves at a very deliberate pace. DaxAI Robotics aims to develop this technology into specialized personal transport for rough outdoor environments where standard vehicles cannot travel.
