GPD has revealed official pricing for the Win Max 3 handheld gaming PC ahead of its upcoming crowdfunding campaign. The device features AMD Strix Halo processors, a 165Hz OLED display, and a swappable 97Wh battery pack. But securing one will cost a premium, with base models starting at $1750.
The machine comes in 3 hardware configurations. The entry level model pairs an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 388 processor with 32GB of memory and a 1TB solid state drive for $1750. Stepping up to 64GB of RAM and a 2TB drive bumps the price to $2246. The top tier model packs a full AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor, 128GB of high speed memory, and a 2TB drive for $3499.
Anticipating pushback over the steep price tags, GPD posted an open statement on X to explain the cost structure. The company pointed to ongoing memory shortages and its position as a boutique hardware maker compared to global tech giants.
We do not have the bargaining power of big brands, and what we can do is limited. But under these constraints, we put in unlimited passion to bring everyone the best product possible. We believe this price represents our greatest sincerity, and $1750 is the best price we can provide.
Beyond the processor options, buyers get a 165Hz OLED panel, fast LPDDR5 8000MT/s memory, and a 97Wh replaceable battery supported by a DC charger. GPD also confirmed that all Indiegogo backers will receive a free external cooling fan module along with free shipping to help balance out the total cost.
