Hisense has introduced the A10 series, featuring the A10 Pro and A10 Ultra smartphones built around a primary electronic paper display. The new devices introduce a magnetic, detachable color screen that snaps onto the back when users need standard multimedia functions. Pricing in China starts at roughly $417 for the Pro model and $476 for the Ultra edition.
Up front, both phones carry a 6.13 inch Carta 1300 E Ink screen with a resolution of 1648x824 and a sharp 300 ppi density. The panel displays 256 shades of gray and includes a 2 color front light with 36 temperature adjustment steps. A dedicated E Ink T2000 controller chip manages screen refresh rates to eliminate ghosting artifacts without loading down the main processor. This surface is engineered specifically for reading digital books, studying PDF files, and jotting down handwritten notes.
The secondary screen solves the typical video limitations of digital paper. It is a compact 4.96 inch color LCD that clicks onto the rear panel using magnetic pins. Users can snap it into place for apps that demand color and fast refresh rates, then pop it off when reading text. Hisense bundles this modular display directly in the box with the A10 Ultra, while A10 Pro buyers have to purchase it as a separate accessory.
Under the hood sits an 8 core Qualcomm QCM6690 processor built on a 4nm process with native 5G connectivity. The chip automatically lowers clock speeds during static reading sessions to stretch battery endurance. Both models run Android 16 out of the box. Additional hardware features include a 48 MP rear camera, NFC for mobile payments, an infrared blaster, Wi Fi 6, and magnetic wireless charging.
Color options include white and green across the entire lineup. For memory and storage, the A10 Pro starts at 2799 yuan (about $417) for 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, rising to 2999 yuan (about $446) for 8GB with 256GB and 3499 yuan (about $520) for 12GB with 512GB. The A10 Ultra with the included secondary display costs 3198 yuan (about $476) for 8GB with 128GB, 3398 yuan (about $505) for 8GB with 256GB, and 3898 yuan (about $580) for the top 12GB with 512GB model.
