Honor has released the Robot Phone, which it claims is the first mobile device to integrate an active robotic gimbal. The design crams a 4DoF mechanical arm and a 200 megapixel camera into a 9.59mm chassis. Preorders have already crossed 400,000 units in China where the system starts at 9999 Yuan ($1,380 USD).
The defining physical feature is the tiny titanium alloy gimbal system. Honor managed to shrink the motor and mechanical arm structure by 65% compared to standard external camera gimbals. This metal mechanism can rotate at speeds up to 360 degrees per second. It works as an active physical tracking mount, using a protective steel motor to flip and track objects automatically during recording. The phone body itself is made from an all metal unibody that weighs 248 grams.
For the screen, Honor chose a custom 6.31 inch flat OLED panel supplied exclusively by Tianma Microelectronics. According to the supplier announcement, this is the first time their premium Tiangong screen tech has been deployed on an embodied AI terminal.
The display runs at a 2640x1216 resolution with an LTPO refresh rate scaling from 1 to 120Hz. To combat outdoor glare, the screen reaches a peak brightness of 6800 nits and includes specialized anti reflection film. Eye protection is handled by a high frequency 4320Hz PWM dimming system designed to prevent screen flicker at low brightness.
The camera system marks the first official collaboration between Honor and ARRI, the legendary cinema camera manufacturer. The 4D gimbal houses a 200 megapixel main sensor measuring 1/1.28 inches with a fast F1.6 aperture. This setup is supported by a 50 megapixel ultra wide lens and another 200 megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 2.7X zoom. Processing is managed by a custom Yuguang H1 imaging chip. The software brings professional ARRI Log C encoding and cinematic LUT files directly to the phone, allowing creators to lock exposure, focus, and white balance during moving shots. Honor Chief Imaging Engineer Luo Wei confirmed that early demand has been incredibly high.
Internal specs are led by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. The phone runs Agentic OS, a multi modal system powered by the Alibaba Qianwen large language model. This software runs the new YOYO Pro assistant, which can execute complex multi step tasks over 100 consecutive steps. The phone also senses user emotions and matches its physical tracking movements to the environment. Power comes from a 7060mAh battery.
Buyers can purchase the base model with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage for 9999 Yuan ($1,380 USD). The top tier model steps up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage for 12999 Yuan ($1,795 USD). Color options are limited to Starry Orbit Silver and Moon Shadow Gray.
