Honor has confirmed the official announcement timeline for its upcoming Robot Phone. The device pairs an unconventional robotic camera mechanism with advanced artificial intelligence capabilities. However, the manufacturer is keeping most hardware specifications under wraps until the launch next month.
The standout feature of this new smartphone is its retractable rear camera module, which uses a stabilization system with 4 degrees of freedom. Honor claims this new stabilizer mechanism is 70% more compact than standard mechanical designs of this type. This space efficiency allowed engineers to fit the complex module inside the chassis without making the phone excessively thick.
On the performance side, the device will likely run on the premium Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which supports local artificial intelligence processing. The smartphone is also expected to mark the debut of AgenticOS, a new software ecosystem built specifically around AI agents. This software layer will manage on device tasks without relying heavily on cloud servers.
