A new convertible laptop has arrived in overseas markets. Equipped with a motorized hinge that rotates automatically, the Lenovo ThinkBook Plus G7 Auto Twist features Intel Core Ultra processors, a 14 inch OLED display, and up to 21 hours of battery life. But the factory storage configuration comes with an unexpected quirk.
Lenovo is leaning into quirky hardware designs again. The big selling point of the G7 Auto Twist is the motorized screen mount. This component does more than just fold back 360 degrees like a standard convertible laptop. The system can actually tilt and swivel the screen automatically from left to right to track user movement or adjust the viewing angle on its own. It is a highly unusual addition to a business machine.
Under the hood, buyers can choose between the Intel Core Ultra 5 325 and the Ultra X7 358H processors. The machine supports up to 32GB of RAM. The storage setup is where things get slightly strange. the motherboard has a full size M.2 2280 slot, but Lenovo ships the laptop with a physically smaller 2242 drive installed. Upgraders will likely want to swap this out immediately for a larger card.
The screen is a 14 inch OLED display with a crisp resolution of 2880x1800. This panel covers 100% of the DCI P3 color gamut and supports a variable refresh rate shifting from 30 120Hz. For working outdoors, peak brightness reaches 1100 nits. Powering this moving screen is a 75Wh battery that Lenovo claims can last up to 21 hours on a single charge.
