Lenovo ThinkBook Plus G7 Auto Twist Launches with Motorized Rotating Display

Lenovo has officially launched the ThinkBook Plus G7 Auto Twist, a laptop featuring a motorized dual angle rotating display that physically tracks user movement. The device combines automated lid control with an Intel Core Ultra X7 358H processor and a 14 inch 2.8K OLED touchscreen. It is currently on sale in China starting at 18999 yuan about 2823.14$ on JD.com, with government subsidies lowering the price to 17499 yuan.

The main selling point of the laptop is its motorized hinge system. The display physically rotates across two axes using integrated sensors to follow your face, posture, or voice during video calls. If you step away from your desk, the lid automatically closes itself to protect your on screen privacy. Pressing the power button automatically opens the lid and logs you into Windows via facial recognition. Users can also control rotation and lid positions through bilingual voice commands in English or Chinese. A specialized software hub called Plus Center lets you configure rotation angles and tracking modes without digging through system menus.

The flexible hinge supports three distinct physical setups, allowing users to switch between standard laptop mode, tablet mode, and a shared presentation mode. The design earned 11 media awards during its initial preview at CES 2026 for its practical take on motorized hardware automation.

Under the hood, the machine runs on the Intel Core Ultra X7 358H processor with 16 cores and 16 threads running up to 4.8 GHz. Graphics processing is handled by an integrated Intel Arc B390 GPU reaching 122 TOPS, while the dedicated NPU provides 50 TOPS for local artificial intelligence tasks. Memory is fixed at 32GB of fast LPDDR5X RAM, accompanied by a 1TB PCIe 5.0 solid state drive. Lenovo also includes its Tianxi personal AI assistant to manage workflow commands directly on the hardware.

The 14 inch OLED touchscreen runs at a 2.8K resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate and 500 nits of peak brightness. It covers 100% of the DCI P3 color spectrum with Dolby Vision support and factory calibration by X Rite. The chassis is finished in Luna Gray aluminum, weighing 1.4 kilograms and measuring 16.15 millimeters in thickness. Power comes from a 75Whr battery that supports 100W USB C fast charging.

Physical connectivity includes 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports, 2 USB A 3.2 ports, 1 HDMI 2.1 port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Wireless connections are handled by Wi Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 modules, ensuring high speed local network throughput for demanding office environments.
